Optimus completes the Fit For Offshore Renewables program

We are proud to announce that we have completed the Fit For Offshore Renewables (F4OR) program, a significant step in our journey of success in the offshore renewable energy sector. We are extremely excited to continue working with ORE Catapult to bring our innovative solutions to the industry.

A major blocker to companies, particularly SMEs diversifying their businesses is access to experts with a deep understanding of those diversification areas who can help understand technical and commercial enablers. F4OR offers a rich learning experience, a robust test of a business’s existing processes, procedures and practices and support to improve them in a targeted way that facilitates entry and establishment within the offshore renewables industry. Optimus are simply better for the experience and already building on our existing experiences in offshore wind and wave power to better serve the offshore renewables industry moving forward.

F4OR is a unique 12-18 month program governed by the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult (OREC) to help the UK supply chain get ready to bid for work in the offshore renewable energy sector. The program aims to support the development of an increasingly competent, capable, and competitive UK offshore renewable energy supply chain – maximizing the opportunity for the UK supply chain, both domestically and globally.

When a company achieves ‘granted’ status, it has proven that it has the relevant knowledge, capability, and competence to meet the required standard expected to do business in the sector. They will have shown that the systems, processes, and knowledge are deeply embedded within the organisation and that they plan to ensure their standards will endure long into the future.

Optimus’ prior experience working within the offshore renewables sector dates to 2015 when we completed the full detailed design of an Offshore Substation jacket structure, followed by multi-discipline engineering design support for three Offshore Substations topsides, in addition to this Optimus has also delivered Specialist Engineering Services to Substation Platform Operators as well as other service companies within the renewables supply chain.

The Optimus journey continues in the renewables sector, and we have also diversified into Carbon Capture Projects with our partners in the supply chain developing initial concepts and taking them through to Front End Engineering and Design into Detailed Design.
